I wonder why it's not common practice to teach the math involved in going to the moon and back? That might encourage kids to apply themselves in math, science, and engineering studies. Surely that stuff isn't a State secret. But they never go into those things in space movies either or else we would know how spacemen plot their course to planets light years away.
Huh, they do commonly teach it in every high school in this country. The math involved in a moon mission is called algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
The problem is it is no longer common for students to wish to learn it when schools offer to teach it in this country.
In china any high school students who refuse to learn these things gets crushed into dust in college entrance exams, and the pulverized remains of their career prospects then gets spread around like manure on farms. This is why their high school sophmores routinely outperform American university sophmores in math. This is also why I think so long as they retain social stability, they will get to the moon sooner than we will return.
