I haven't read this whole thread, but I've read fore and aft extensively. I'm not going to argue about the Big Bang (probably right) because it isn't the point.
The point is that "I don't know how x" (the universe came into being, life started, what makes lightning, why Newton was so smart, fundamentalists won't read science) happened is not proof of god. We don't know, just means, we don't know. It doesn't mean that god did it.
Many things we now know about (lightening, the origins of humans, viruses, etc.) were attributed to gods or demons. Did the gods or demons exist before and then disappear in a puff of science when we found out? No. They never existed at all.
Human ignorance is proof of nothing, including god.

If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
