Most any person from any country will tell you that they love their homeland. I think most Americans would tell you the same, but to be completely honest, these last few years I haven't met a single one of my fellow Americans that doesn't express utter contempt and disdain for our ruling government.
In truth, I think everyone I personally know literally HATES our own government. Now I know that there are many people in many countries who would give a lot to live here and experience our democratic government, but what they don't understand is that we have no more real control in our government than they do with their dictatorship. The only difference is that they are not under the illusion that they do.
