I will not accept I was ignoring the rest of the world. I said I did not know the situation in the rest of the world. For the purposes of my argument nor do I need to know. The fact that England and Wales do not recognise blasphemy as a crime is sufficient.
And if you were arguing for the use of the slogan within your country, you may have a point. However, this is an international forum, so it is relevant.

I know the US has suffered reputation-wise thanks to Bush. However, the American people elected Barack Obama, and he has been very welcoming and respectful to the international community. A lot of people had that in mind when we elected him.
I disagree that the US is introspective, there are some people who are, but not all. For every Bush there's an Obama, for every Palin there's a Maddow. However, in the end, if you can recognize that you made a sweeping generalization about the people as a whole, I have no more to say on the matter and we can respectfully disagree.
