I'm just saying forcing anti-gay people to look at the headline anytime they buy a burger is not the best way to promote acceptance, I'm not denying we should promote it.
How can citizens be equal when some are denied all of the rights other citizens have?
Again, I'm not saying they shouldn't have.

Again, there is no issue of 'forcing people' here. Nobody is forcing people to buy these burgers, it's an expression of free speech. And no, the LGBT community does not have all the same rights as straight people. Their adoption processes are almost impossible in many areas, the Christian Right is pushing for the ability to fire/not hire gay people just for being homosexual, with that Hobby Lobby ruling. The repealing of the 3rd article of DOMA and the ending of Don't Ask Don't Tell was only in the last handful of years. This isn't something that's no big deal.
And the marriage issue isn't some niggling little leftover that can be written off, it's a huge deal, just like the fight for interracial marriage was.
It is not as a big deal as having essential rights live the right to live, physical integrity etc. How the fuck can I refuse to hire gay people? You can't even ask someone if they are gay, at least not where I live, is this even legal?
It is free speech, just like it is when Christians use the 'god hates fags' protests. I support equal rights for gay people, I just think we should find a good way to make acceptance possible. Annoying right wing Christians will make them hate gay more.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
