I don't feel any sympathy for them whatsoever. When they die they would become too dead to ever experience regret for a life squandered pursuing a sickening and unattainable fantasy, yet what they did to waste their own lives will continue afflict the lives of those still living. What is there to feel sorry for? They are never called to atone for their folly, much less make restitution for those injured by their folly.
