I understand, and I wouldn't fault you. Some of us don't think that running away from a bully solves anything. How many times would you have to relocate before you said "fuck this shit, I'm staying right here"? I'm assuming that you're heterosexual, so this just isn't a place that you'd make a principled stand - and I could spend pages explaining to you why it touches on issues other than where you pick you pecker....but I bet you already get that, so I'll spare us all the trouble.

Against fascism the situation is not easy... Some people need me, I would die fighting for freedom, but my relatives and loved ones need me and I don't want to die without having kids first, it's just my call.

You'd be ignoring a wonderful tool for positive social change. But everyone has their own opinion, of course.

I added some edited stuff on the last reply about brazil. Do you really think not hosting the world cup there would change anything? They need activism on the inside, the best weapon we can use is putting their people against the government. If we could make Russians not hate gays, that'd be great. Perhaps informing people and society discretely to reduce the hate on gays would be good? Or maybe distributing papers about tolerance and respect for homosexuality? (I don't think this last part is considered illegal by the law if it's not aimed at minors)... Who knows...

Actually the religion I dislike most is Islam... Should my country teams stop playing with russian football teams and arab teams just because they don't respect human rights? Agree. And to answer our former debate, as I said to Rhythm, the best way to change Russia's law is to change society's mentality, but it should be done subliminally or discreetly to avoid breaking the law. Spreading information, teaching people being gay is not a choice, that everyone is equal, etc... Putin said one of the reasons the law was made is because Russian's hate gays (and not only old people but also young and middle aged people), if we could change people's mentality, then perhaps Russian would ban the law... If you got the impression I support tyranny and taking people's rights then I'll clear your head, I don't, I really don't, I just want to see things and deal with them realistically
