I think somewhere in this thread is a discussion of the requirements for becoming a cop. Shockingly low.

True. And not only do police departments tend to attract bullies that love prove their worth with force but that's the type of people they seek to recruit (somebody who will stand up for the "law"). Urgh. There's many great cops (actually the majority probably) but just too many of them are the school bullies who want power which makes the whole thing a disorganized/corrupt problem.
