Thank-you all for the welcomes .... my terminology with the title could be ambiguous I realise was just implying its a forum not full of brain washed god fanatics who turn selective blind eyes to the real world around them and ignore the ever evolving science and tech' discoveries that fly in the face of their beliefs, I'm not generally against religion, it can 'if done correctly' give those who belief a happy life and a feeling of self worth but personally I get this without worshiping an invisible make belief being.
What does get my goat is when religion steps on my toes directly or shows its dark side.... religion has a strong link with the barbaric level humans can fall to in the name of their Prophet or God....murder, rape, torture etc; yes these exist outside the Religious field but nowhere near the level seen with the many terrorists, rebel groups, fanatics (call them what you want) which commit the most horrendous atrocities on a daily basis in the name of God.
I laugh in the face of religion and I'm not one to hold back my thoughts so if I'm not taking the piss out of it I'm attacking it, reminds me of 2 bible bashers (dear old ladies) knocked on my door, seeing what they were trying to do I quickly told them I'm an Atheist and they were wasting mine and their time.. one of them asked my why I was an Atheist to which I replied 'Cos God made me that way' - their little faces were a picture as they left and tried to work out what I just said.
