There are lots of different origin stories for marvel characters, they update them every now and then, its just how marvel does it. But the comic I read said he had the whole skin cancer thing. Mind you it was an old comic so the weapon X is probably his new origin story.
No, it's the same story as it was when I was 14 & actually reading the comics. Marvel subscribes to the multiverse theory. If a Marvel hero has multiple origin stories they are generally on a different "Earth". I.e. the movie (Earth 199999) Avengers & the comic book (Earth 616) Avengers aren't in the same "dimension". This is how Marvel kept the "What If" comics canon. Hell, the Wolverine movie "Earth" & the Avengers movie "Earth" aren't even the same dimension.
Earth 5556
Earth 2149
Earth 616
Earth 10005
Also, I never said Deadpool *didn't* have cancer. Cancer = immortal (as in they don't die when they are supposed to) run-away cells. Deadpool is what happens when cancer meets mutant healing factor.
