"If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise." Exodus 21:22-25

That's an if-then.It applies only to assulted ladies that are with child.

Not really. There are several other instances where the OT writers told stories of the Jews fighting against peoples who had wronged them and even God himself stepping down to kick the asses of nations or individuals who had done something he didn't like. Any atheist can tell you that.
Jesus' teachings on forgiveness were a clear contradiction of what the OT writers taught.
