Why I don't believe in polls

The problem with polls is that they cover only a small protion of humanity that in reality does not reflect the majority.

There is a lot of science behind polling. Once a poll reaches a certain percentage of people, if that percentage is representative of the overall population well (i.e. random) they become pretty accurate, that's normally what the margin of error refers too. There are other ways to put bias or control polling using selection bias or more commonly wording bias, but if you know the science behind polling, you can't really levy criticism against survey size.

Myself, I love polls. I considered making a career that involved them. I love understanding how they work, what they can do and tell you, and what they can't tell you. I think if you dismiss polling out of hand you just don't understand how they work.
