...Personaly, I dislike the idea of there being a god...

I used to feel exactly the same way when I was an atheist. I just didn't want there to be a God, and I would go out of my way to make science and other data fit my atheist beliefs, and would ignore any rational points made by theists that pointed towards the existence of God. But this is before I realized that God is not as black and white, and simple as atheists paint him. (This magical and supernatural being that created the world, kills children, and wants us to worship him.) There's more to understanding our complex God, and there's a purpose for everything.

I know a lot of atheists are atheists because they dislike the idea of there being a God. But after gaining more understanding, I now feel just the opposite. I not only believe in God, but I love the idea that he's around.

Good for you . But if by "God" you mean "Yahweh," then I'll pass.
