Scented Nectar, I had a discussion at length with one of our resident nutjobs, Pippy about the pros and cons of porn - it's in the News/Activism section under the title "Smut for Smut".

I'll look for that. The topic has been coming up all over the place lately. Or maybe it's just on my mind....

By the way, it's funny that Mo says porn makes you look at women as objects of lust, when Islamic law is set up to cover up women because men can't control themselves. Also, how many of your four permanent wives have you collected thus far?

That's husbands, as I've been mostly straight in my needs these last couple decades. I'm not so sure I want to limit myself to just 4 men for the rest of my life anymore. I think I'll stay single. I did want to make sure though, that the islamic religion being offered was ok with such a thing. Being that women are all equal with men, they say, and being that a man can have 4 wives (plus any girls he's 'damaged' as long as he does not marry their sisters). Maybe it's just as well that I never got an answer, since I also never got an answer as to should I beat them with a toothbrush if they are lewd. I might do something evil and anti-allah by being okay with it instead of jealous and beaty with the toothbrush.

I went on to the site he proposed, and it's a bunch of fucking hogwash. Porn leads to sexual crimes? Don't you think the rate of sexual assault would be much fucking higher if that were true?

No statistics show higher crimes from it. My guess is that crimes are actually lowered as a result and that statistics might show that someday.

It also has a lot of irrelevant points, such as it makes you lie and makes you spiritually unclean. I honestly don't give a fuck about that.

If your spirit gets too unclean, you can always take a bath! But usually when wanking, as long as you don't mind it yourself, there is no need to shower and fancy yourself up for another person.

The only times I lie regarding porn, is when I think that those around me might disapprove in a way I'm too uncomfortable with. I hear that many men have to lie about it to their girlfriends/wives because it has such a bad rep among many women, who are mostly taught to think of it as bad by society.

I like porn, I enjoy pleasuring myself, I enjoy pleasuring my partner, and I enjoy it when she pleasures me, specifically in a way that I've never experienced before. I don't see a harm in that, especially not if some sexually repressed Christian tells me kittens die because I masturbate.

If you are killing kittens when wanking, you need to start getting your sex toys at more legit businesses.

Porn is great for checking out new things. It doesn't CAUSE the enjoyment of those things though (the way Mo suggests), since, if it is not something you're going to respond to, you simply won't. Might even kill the mood til something better is found.

Porn is also good for women too in the way that, because of modern porn (and other media, but especially porn), many more men have learned about the clit compared to before it was so commonly stimulated in porn. Trust me, I started having sex with men in the 70s, hahahah. They have come a long long way. And even all those anti-porn women are benefitting without realizing it.
