So-called reasoning also lead to the Holocaust...I assume that's the type of reasoning that is feared.

You understand that for reasoning to be reasonable, for it to be functional at all, it needs to conform to reality, right? I don't think anyone would argue that the motivations for the Holocaust did that.

And we all understand that fallacious reasoning is bad.

Well, they actually conformed to what was being seen as science at the time.....frankly, you had Dawkins touch upon an aspect of that and was thoroughly attacked by all sides. Not the best move on his part.
