Technically, it's season 51. Perhaps for reasons to do with marketing the series to a new audience, the numbering was 'reset' in 2005. I think that was a mistake; it effectively cuts the series off from its roots and creates an artificial "us and them" divide among the audience.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
