Fuck religion. Fuck in the ass those that claim people who commit undesirable acts in the name of their religion aren't really representatives of their religion. Fuck in the ear those that ask me to consider any religion's sense of morality while ignoring the broader ethical conversation that's been going on longer than your religion has existed. Fuck in the nostril those that don't get the fact that their religion is impractical; meaning it is impotent at preventing what all of us would consider unethical.
There is no religion of peace. None. Religion by its very nature is exclusionary and combative.
The Romans seemed to think differently where in their society there were hardly any problems pertaining to religion until Christianity showed up and caused a bit of controversy.
I've never heard of an instance where Buddhism has been aggressive or the likes and yes Buddhism IS a religion not a 'moral philosophy'.
In Al-Andalus the Emirate/Caliphate of Corduba there existed a tranquility between Christian, Muslims, and Jews all who lived along side one another peacefully (for the most part) and used their intellectual minds to advance science, medicine etc.
It is not the religions that cause wars or discord but the people who wield influence over them.
