Quote:A jury failed to reach a verdict last year for Officer Joseph Weekley, who faces involuntary manslaughter charges in the 2010 death of Aiyana Stanley-Jones, who was sleeping on a couch when officers stormed her home in search of a murder suspect, court documents said."(His) gun fired." All by itself, I am sure. Not that they're trying to absolve him of the blame or anything.
Weekley’s gun fired, and a bullet struck Aiyana in the head. The shooting has stirred tension in Detroit, heightening ongoing concerns about police brutality and use of excessive force.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
