$1.5m payout for US woman punched by police at roadside

Footage posted on YouTube in July shows a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer straddling the woman, Marlene Pinnock, and hitting her many times.

The settlement agreed on Wednesday came after nine hours of talks between lawyers in Los Angeles.

A CHP statement said the officer, on leave since the incident, has resigned.

The officer could still face criminal charges.

And pigs may fly, too.

An S.C. trooper who stopped a man for a seat belt violation outside Columbia and then shot him – apparently without provocation – was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Sean Groubert, 31, a lance corporal who was fired from the Highway Patrol after the shooting incident, now faces 20 years in prison if convicted of wrongfully shooting the driver, Levar Jones.

Yeah, sure. Let's see what the grand jury has to say before they "whitewash" this one.

Two Ohio police were justified when they shot and killed a man holding a pellet gun inside a Beavercreek Walmart, a grand jury decided Wednesday in declining to indict the cops.

But the U.S. Justice Department will take a look at the case for possible civil rights violations, the feds announced just hours after the local decision.

But what really tops the cake is this little bit of bullshit.

The special prosecutor, appointed to investigate the case by State Attorney General Mike DeWine, called the shooting a tragedy for Crawford’s family and the officers, who will live their lives knowing “they took the life of someone who didn’t need to die.”

The so-called 'special prosecutor' actually equates the "tragedy" of a man being killed with the effect on the cops. Those two motherfuckers are probably high-fiving each other because they got away with murder.
