What if they 'believe in Jesus' (as surely as an abortion terrorist does) and commit what you consider to be heinous acts? What if they think they are mandated by their Abrahamic god to act in such ways. Are they true Christians or not?
Also, throughout the Old Testament, Yawheh killed and ordered the killing of innumerable children. (Mind you, I don't believe a bit of that nonsense, but -- hey! -- it's your holy book, your story, and your god.)
Some people might not see any reason to cede the moral high ground to people who worship such a monster.
