I mean, the religious leader of Muslims, Mohammed, very specifically started an Islamic state and his followers have a habit of doing the same thing. Fortunately, the only place where there is a high enough percentage of Muslims for this to happen is in the middle east and some parts of Africa. I don't worry in the slightest that there's going to be Sharia law here in the US. Hell, I worry more about Jewish law being instituted in the US than I do Sharia law.
If it makes you feel any better, out of 46 countries with clear Muslim majorities, about 20 of them have secular governments, and probably a handful of them are fairly decently run. In particular, former Soviet satellites like Albania and Kazakhstan are pretty secular, though I don't think that's the best way to accomplish it.
Muslims don't have to be Islamist, as much as the Islamists like to try to convince them otherwise.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
