Milky Way is a barred spiral, not an ordinary spiral as depicted.

And how do you know? Have you gone up and taken pictures? See this is the problem with science - too much assumption. Oh, the milky way is spiral; oh, we were monkeys once, oh, dinosaurs had feathers, and so on with the stupidity.

Brilliant.

Everyone, take a look. This is partly why human interstellar travel would be a disaster for the other poor inhabitants of the universe.
