Kitties purr and they are soft. It is a redeeming feature. Plus they can have really quirky personalities.

My mother always had little yappy rat dogs and they've put me off dogs in general.

If I ever get a dog it will be a German Shepherd or something similar.

I prefer curling up in bed with a couple of purring cats. It's very relaxing.
