Putin is no Stalin. Putin relies on the orthrodox church and pretends he is a believer. Stalin would have sent anyone preaching the bible to the gulag, if not the basement of Lubyanka prison. That is except during WWII, when Stalin awarded the order of Lenin, soviet union's highest decoration, to the orthrodox patriarch Sergius of Muscovy in return for the patriarch preaching that God is with the atheists, not the nazis. Oh the irony. Appearently even the patriarch would much rather avoid NKVD's bullet to the back of the head then go to heaven and suck the penis of his Jesus.

I guess in the Soviet Union, there are no theists when there is credible threat of being sent to the foxhole.
