I'm not even trying to correct you; racism IS a problem. This scenario has nothing to do with race, though. It has to do with a man violently beating his girlfriend.

Great, but if you think your POV is a nationwide norm you'd be wrong. Instead of looking only in your own backyard, like climate change deniers, if you are in a better position to spread what you say works for where you live, then still, work on that. But because you say you don't see it does not mean it is not a problem elsewhere.
FYI, just so you know I do not use the word "respect" I hate that word. I value rights, I value your right to make whatever claim you want. But ideas do not get taboo status by themselves.
Instead of having a kneejerk reaction to my world choice, consider that it is not you I am objecting to, but the logic behind what you are saying.
I will value a claim that is demonstrable and adapt that position because it is proven.
Race is an issue regardless of your sample rate. If it were not an issue history would not keep repeating itself.
