Never? Cameron has a small army of dedicated followers who will swallow whatever tripe he'll sell them. It's a lot like how free-to-play games work - a small (1% - 5%) portion of a FTP game's entire audience is what makes them money. I imagine the same is true with people like Cameron. The people that actually pay for his wares are likely a small portion of the evangelical population, but they're also likely to pay a shit ton for everything he does. It's literally buying into his message.

Plus, he's still somewhat marketable because he was Mike Seaver 25 years ago, and he's still smarmily charming, and his sister was just on Dancing With the Stars, he has idiots like Kathy Lee Gifford praising and interviewing him on the Today Show, etc.

Parasites like him will always thrive because he can flash his smile, bring up nostalgia of his time before he was a visible self-righteous prick, and tell people exactly what they want to hear so they don't need to think for themselves.

Even if the worst scenario happened - getting caught having casual gay sex while also being a drug abuser and/or abusing his spouse - he'd be able to twist it into the standard:

"I'm human, which means I'm a sinner. I fell to temptation. It's only through the strength of my friends, family, and lord jesus christ in heaven that I'm able to start the road to recovery. I'm going to do a 20 city tour to talk about it. $50 a ticket. See you there!"

So, no, I don't see him going away.
