Cars, appliances, building material, food, alll of it is based on the cheapest/lowest bidder. That is why manufacture of just about everything has moved to slaver nations. If everyone was paid an honest livable wage no one could afford those appliances, cars, electronics or even food. Modern life could not exist without slaves.Cheapest/lowest bidder =/= "slavery" - but otherwise you absolutely have a point. Many things which we use, depend on, or purchase are products of exploitative interactions. Some things we can opt out of, some things we cant. Some things we know about (some we don't). Some things...a few here and there, aren't part or privy to this at all. (I buy alot of shit custom, at ludicrous price- but I have an uncommon profession). "Modern life" could, can, and does exist without slaves. Nothing has "slave labor" as an non-negotiable input. We can't control the actions of others, oceans away (hell, even next door). The best we can do is deal with those situations as they arise...and yes.. we may have already bought their product before they come to our attention. We're human, it happens.
Meanwhile...
