Meh. You know this is way off topic and I realize that it's not what you are saying, but it's a myth that serial killers are more intelligent than the average population.
It's not the fact that being a serial killer makes you more intelligent, but rather than serial killers tend to be associated with psychopathy, and while there are psychopaths with below average or average intelligence, it's not a myth that some actually have a high IQ - And that's why everyone's so surprised when they get caught - Who would have thought that such a charming person could actually kill someone?
