These are the guys who are being elected BY cops to represent their interests. It tells me all I need to know about the mentality of the rank and file.
How is any gang mentality different? That is what groups of like minded people do, that is how evolution works. I am not saying it always produces good things. That is why religions fight each other. That is why political ideologies get pitted against each other, and even why street gangs exist. Cops support cops just like small businesses tend to vote the same party as big businesses. Humans will side with the pattern they think works best for their own interest.
The problem is you have right now 1% not understanding and or not caring how a bad economy allows this division.
