Congrats and kudos for your courage. I know how hard it is to break free of that religious mindset especially if you've been raised in a religious environment.
I think you made a wise decision in deciding to wait till you are independent before coming out to your family. In between if you need any kind of advice or moral support, we have some excellent people here.
