Joe Arpaio, is notorious, and proud of it. This little idiocy is a drop in the bucket compared to what the sheriff has cost tax payers for prisoner abuse (including a number a prisoner deaths), and corruption cases (including failing to account for money raised in a pink sheriff's underwear sale).
