The AUTHORS of the books didn't seem to be able to convey their thinking well enough to keep Christianity from dividing into thousands of denominations, and killing each other over how to interpret it. The AUTHORS aren't very helpful when we don't have any original writings anyway. Even the dead sea scrolls aren't the originals. Not that the AUTHORS of one holy book are any more informed than the AUTHORS of other holy books talking about other gods.
