I think I didn't explain myself well. I meant as a claim of knowledge or of truth, any unfalsifiable claim (or inconsistent claim) is worthless to anyone but yourself. Of course the placebo effect is astonishing, and people can gain power from all sorts of beliefs. What they don't realize, or perhaps even care, is that the strength is coming from themselves. But if they need the strength and that's the only way they can tap into it, then good for them. As long as they don't try and force me to share their beliefs, or want it taught in science class
It's not that I don't like the idea of God, I just see it plainly for what it is. What I don't like is the harm it causes.
