That Mohammed actually accomplished it is a claim, not evidence. You have a tradition of what Mohammed did. That doesn't mean he really did it, that his deeds weren't exaggerated, or that the text hasn't been altered. There is no surviving 'original' Qu'ran. Like the Bible, it was compiled from many writings, and may not have been compiled until after Mohammed's death. It was likely dictated or written by people who had memorized parts of it, though according to some scholars the Qu'ran was written down, but in parts scattered among Mohammed's companions. We have no way of knowing what was added, left out, or changed. The 'evidence' that it was unchanged is tradition...which is not actually evidence. I don't doubt that heroic measures have been taken to preserve it as perfectly as possible, but there's no reason other than faith to believe that the Qu'ran of today is actually perfectly identical to the Qu'ran in Mohammed's head.
