You'd probably get a better reception if you didn't act like you were bringing the tablets down the mountain. Maybe if you honed your presentation and your points so that they were cogent rather than condescending you'd face a friendlier audience.

Except that unlike those murders, the ones committed by Mao and Stalin were not done in the name of atheism, but rather, to tighten their grip on power and protect it from their fervid imaginings.
Also, you seem to have forgotten about the 30 Years' War, which greatly ups the number of deaths attributable directly to worshiping the Prince of Peace -- there's a little more irony for you -- by perhaps as many as ten million dead. If we include deaths from other religions (which would be appropriate in terms of categorical equivalence) then you're going to see millions more dead attributable to blind faith.
