Quote:As an atheist how do you cope with death?
Does death challenge your views as an atheist?
This one is easily answered for me.
As an Atheist I do not fear death and that I acknowledge that I will cease to exist. I'm actually fine with that if not happy. I mean, who would want to live forever with a gawd who has no morality?
Also the death of others is something I see as totally natural. I don't cry, I don't wish. I just let them go as they have lived there lives and that there time is up.
Life is just a very small taster of existence. It's a taste of what it's like to exist but this taster is nothing more. Once your time is up you will go back into oblivion. We've been dead for many billions of years, we then get a lucky chance to live and then after that you go back into oblivion but this time for all eternity.
I actually welcome the end when I have spent my time.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
