1. I consider the scientific explanation for X insufficiently convincing (for any reason, even an arbitrary one).

2. Therefore, X must just be freaking magic.

3. Therefore the god of my particular religion exists.
1. Something in the Bible blatantly contradicts reality.

2. Therefore, that passage is being misinterpreted.

3. Therefore we must reinterpret the passage (even if this requires redefining common words) so that it corresponds with some element of reality.
1. You can't prove god doesn't exist.

2. Therefore, god exists.
