Atheism, Scientific Atheism and Antitheism

The anti-religion thing, where atheists mock and deride religions and religious people, reminds me very much of one facet of the behavior of church-people that I rejected as a youth.

There are instances when you can either cry out in pain or mock what you just heard to create some comic relieve. In my case it's mostly when someone presents themselves to be proudly and willfully ignorant of the world surrounding us and what science tought us about this world.

But I don't need a label to do so. Although I'm mostly ignorant about natural sciences, I put about a billion times more stock in it's findings than I do in the words of ancient desert dweller, who thought the earth was flat and who, in their vast majority, couldn't even read or write.
