My edition of book one, which is one of the shorter (shortest?) books in the series runs 807 pages + appendix.
I should stop derailing my own thread, though.
@TRJF: Nakobov is great. The Stanley Kubrick adaptation of Lolita is excellent as well.
Darkness at noon sounds interesting. Might have to check it out.
