Well, i know its not what you want to hear, but the country was founded on Christian principles. Every school and college was Christian, you'd read from the Bible daily. Evolution is just a theory..
I recommend the first thing you do is atleast be honest to yourself and recognise that you do not have a "lack of belief", rather, you believe there is no God.
Actually it was founded on principles that had been around long before Christianity was even thought of, in one form or another.
And the treat of Tripoli clearly states that the US was not founded as a Christian nation.
Evolution is a SCIENTIFIC theory, meaning it's a fact.
No most atheists don't believe in gods, any gods. Very few claim that those gods don't exist.
