If you will notice in Genesis, Satan is cursed for what can essentially be considered trying to help mankind. He entices Adam to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil - wouldn't that knowledge seem to be a good thing? I'd say that he sounds like a hell of a lot better guy than the bloodthirsty YHWH.

BTW - note the parallels of Satan being punished for helping man and Prometheus being punished for giving man the gift of fire
