Based on observation it seems that wigged out nutty muslims are recent converts. Sure, there are some generational fruitcakes in some societies, such as some of the Egyptian, Saudi, Iranian, and Yemeni clerics and their henchmen. But since Islam is a peer pressure religion the average person has to go along in order to get along.
