If God says do "x" and sin is "y" in th bible God wants us to do "x" and Satan pushes us to do "y" and "z" is the direct result of "y". Then Satan is directly responsible for "z"
Example:
If God say feed the poor.. And say the US can produce enough food to feed everyone in need, but rather it pays its farmers not to over produce what the US needs because it will drop the price of the grains it can produce too far, then the sin here in this oversimplified example would be greed. Now IF the US will not meet the need of the starving countries because it would drop the commodity prices too much, and as a result the starving country looses a large number to starvation, then the sin of greed is the reason those people died. Now the question becomes who is the father of that sin?
