Has anyone else noticed that the thing christians seem to fear the most is just being wrong? Like, I can't tell you how many times I've heard this refrain from believers, this "if you're right, you'll never be able to gloat!" idea from them, like it's some kind of safety blanket they're clinging to. But I've never once heard an atheist express disappointment that they'll never be able to say "I told you so," in fact I've never so much as heard the idea that we'd like to gloat once it's all over. It's yet another bizarrely self-centered christian theme, really; they seem to think that our lives are geared around getting at them, that we have some interest in teasing them from beyond the grave. Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm a goddamn adult, I have no particular need to rub it in, grade-school style, to a bunch of people I've never met.
