The only source for Jesus is the bible. The bible is not evidence for Jesus' existence because its historical accuracy cannot be properly verified. Therefore, using the bible to both show Jesus existed and that the supposed effect his actions had on the community at the time is veritably akin to stating that Harry Potter must have existed due to the effect his actions had at Hogwarts.
It is documented outside The Bible that he effected the Roman province of Israel; both politically and socially. Again; you can bump the threads which have tackled this, debating whether he existed is not the purpose of this thread as it'll derail the actual intent behind it. I've cited a link which you can read yourself, but that link summarized my thoughts. This will have to be the last response I make on this mini-derailment.
