Soul, spirit, god, afterlife, "energy"...As far as I am concerned, there is no evidence these words mean anything more than as metaphors. Metaphors I use, of course. They are useful in a literary sense.
Yes "I don't know" is certainly an acceptable answer. But the evidence is in that god claims are really nothing more than our species gap filling psychologically. "God" is really nothing more than our species narcissism and anthropomorphic cartoon reflections of our own desires.
It explains nothing other than our species ability to be imaginative.
