To believe in something, like a god, you must have a reason. If that reason can be identified, it can be assessed to see if it is a rational reason or not, to some extent. Unfortunately, each person may not truly know themselves what the reason is. And even if they do know, they often cover it with obviously unconvincing fake-logic reasons which certainly wouldn't be enough. I suspect that in most cases it is an emotional reason.
