Let me explain in detail
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.- Matthew 11:25
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Keep in mind that these people were ignorant and unlearned (couldn't read or write), yet everyone heard them in their own language.
This is the rest (sabbath) Jesus spoke about (the gift of the holy spirit), which is why we no longer observe the sabbath as the Jews do.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. - Matthew 11:28-29
Quote:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. In this scripture he is saying that he will give knowledge of his word to babes (the unlearned)
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.- Matthew 11:25
Quote:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"Precept upon Precept" could basically be interpreted as "scripture upon scripture", in other words scripture must be according to scripture, it can't contradict.
Quote:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.Acts 2

Quote:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Quote:13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. This is saying the word of God is written in a way that confuses those unworthy of it.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
