As for the teacher in Germany, I don't really have a problem with the head scarf for the same reason that I wouldn't have a problem with a public school teacher wearing a cross on a necklace. In my view, that would fall under free exercise and free expression -- provided there is no evidence the teacher is crossing the line and overtly or implicitly stumping for her religion in a public classroom. And if that line is crossed, the teacher and the public school she represents should be held accountable and heads should roll.
