While I agree we're not that different, I wouldn't exactly say there's only a single point of disagreement. Belief in an interventionist god almost always has other beliefs attached.
It's those other beliefs - like the one that churches deserve tax-exempt status, that children need to be taught this nonsense in class, or that we don't need to worry about future too much, because Jeebus is gonna save us any minute now - that are the most annoying/frightening to a rational atheist like myself.
